2. Godzilla (1998): When Ness and I reviewed this movie earlier in the year, it had been years since I had last watched it; which is strange, because I always considered Godzilla to be one of my favorite films.
During the viewing, I was reminded of why I love this movie so much and had flashbacks of when I saw the film in theaters Memorial Day 1998. It was a beautiful nostalgia trip for me, but I was also reminded of the enormous amount of Godzilla material that was released alongside this film’s theatrical release. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll ever see anything that grand involving Godzilla again in the United States; but for those of us who were alive then, we still have the memories.
The characters are good, but not great, and I found that the effects still hold up fairly well for the most part. I still love the design of this Godzilla and the film is downright entertaining!
I love this movie with all of my heart, and I thank God I was reminded of my love for this movie not too long ago!
