The Supposed Godzilla For The 2012 Film Is A Fake

Man, don’t you just love how the internet comes up with crap now-a-days? Well, apparently for the past two days here, some blogs have written articles showing what it looks like to be the “official Godzilla” for the upcoming Legendary Pictures film scheduled for a 2012 release. These two pictures originated from a Flickr account that were uploaded some months ago and the original uploader states that “I was told by a good friend in the movie biz that this was one of the designs they were considering for the new 3D Godzilla!” You know, that whole “I have a friend in the movie biz” is really worn out and is totally untrue.

This sculpture was mostly made by a fan on his/her image of Godzilla. Even though it’s an awesome looking sculpture, it’s not the “official Godzilla” for the 2012 film. Legendary Pictures will reveal Godzilla down the road or when the film hits theatres, much like the 1998 version did when it was released and especially the Cloverfield film.

This is just going to be the same speculation crap like Cloverfield, people saying that they had a friend in the movie biz and told them or gave them a photo of what the monster will look like. And what did we see when Cloverfield was released? A monster that looked nothing from those supposed pictures that thought that were the “official Cloverfield monster”. It’s like that saying: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

So when you see some speculation sprout up something for Godzilla 2012 this early, just totally dismiss it as false news, except for when it comes from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. We’ve already reported this issue in the first episode of Planet X Control Room podcast on April 30th. So yeah, we already knew that this sculpture is NOT the official 2012 Godzilla.
