27. Godzilla Vs. Hedorah: I haven’t watched Godzilla Vs. Hedorah over the past year either. Which is strange considering I’ve watched more of the Showa films than any other era (outside of the Millennium era to do reviews for the podcast).
The film definitely has grown on me over the years and I’ve begun to gradually accept the weirdness that is Godzilla Vs. Hedorah. It’s a film that I thought about viewing once or twice, but not as often as Godzilla Vs. Spacegodzilla. So why is this film one spot higher than Godzilla Vs. Spacegodzilla? It has better characters and drama. It being a Showa film also helps, but, don’t get me wrong, I also love the Heisei era.
The Showa era films, however, have a glisten of nostalgia on them that neither the Heisei nor Millennium eras have been able to replicate.
