Planet X Control Room: Episode 34
April 2, 2013“Yongary” Review
April 3, 2013The first five films are The Outcasts. These movies I haven’t much of (or at all) over the past year. Some of these movies I may have watched, but did not find them to be spectacular. Below are the five films and the reasons why I placed them where I did. Let’s get started!
29. Godzilla’s Revenge: Not only did I not watch this film in the past year, I have come to the realization that I do not find the film to fit my movie-watching palette like it used to. I was about 9 or 10 at the time I first saw this movie and it held up fairly well despite knowing there was stock footage in place. But, at the time, I didn’t own Son of Godzilla so that footage seemed very fresh to me at the time.
That’s not to say this movie is horrible or anything of the sort. I don’t think any of these movies are terrible. Godzilla’s Revenge is a movie that I have probably outgrown. It certainly appeals more to the 5-9 year old range. Although I, too, have begun to question some of the film’s guidance: Standing up to bullies. This isn’t part of the reason why I placed the film in the last spot, but it’s something that I’ve thought about more and more as I’ve gotten older and have taken more consideration in as I gradually get to the point of becoming a parent in the next year or so.
While the message has some validity to it, it isn’t the best choice given some of the circumstances a child may find him/herself in. Despite the message, the film is mainly made up of stock footage of better movies and the new footage doesn’t quite makeup for the movie’s shortcomings. On top of that, I think I’ve outgrown the movie.
