Godzilla Final Four 2013: The Mighty Twelve

April 11, 20135. Godzilla 1985: As a kid, this movie would be near the bottom of my list. I didn’t care for the gritty tone nor the movie as a whole. I found it less entertaining and, well, a bore.
As I’ve gotten older, I have begun to love this movie. I especially love the Japanese version of this movie more so than the American cut, but even that movie is fun in its own way.
Godzilla’s look is beautiful, but a bit weird at times, because the head appears to be a bit larger than it needs to be. The story is dark; miniatures grand and beautiful in their destruction; the characters interesting and not-so-goofy; and the ending a bit of a tear-jerker.
Godzilla 1985 came so close to making the Final Four and, for a while, it was in my Final Four. At this point, you know what the Final Four movies are, just not necessarily the order I’ll place them in.
This movie is a lot of fun and I am engaged the entire time!
