7. Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.: Another one of my all-time favorites made it in the Elite Eight. GMMG, however, may have slipped a bit.
After viewing it for PXCR earlier in the year, I realized that, not only did I still enjoy the film (especially the daikaiju battles), but I found the characters fairly bland and the drama uninteresting. Having watched this movie shortly after GMG, I began to see how inferior its characters are.
I still believe this is Tezuka’s best Godzilla film (for the moment anyways), and having the remaining half of the movie devoted to the battle is a G-Fan’s dream! The battles are more entertaining to watch this time and Godzilla isn’t portrayed as a dumb brute like he was in the preceding film.
Kent
Kent is a lifelong fan of Godzilla, kaiju, and other weird creatures. His love of Godzilla was initially stemmed from his love of dinosaurs.
