22. Terror of Mechagodzilla: This has been near the top of my favorite’s list since I first saw the film in 1995. Surprisingly, this is one of my favorites that I found myself placing near the bottom.
Why? Well, despite having watched this movie last summer, unlike some of the other Godzilla films, I was surprised as to how disinterested I was in the movie. In fact, I will even go so far as to say I was a bit bored by it.
The drama didn’t seem as interesting this time and the pacing felt slow. Ichinose and Katsura have an interesting dynamic with the human-loves-a-cyborg subplot, but the characters are still so very dull.
The final battle is still one of my favorites in the series and the alien space suits are so ridiculous, but fun, at the same time.
