15. Godzilla: King of the Monsters/Gojira: Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Gojira are fun films with Gojira being the superior version, but I noticed when I watched both last September, I didn’t enjoy them like I had in years past; especially, and surprisingly, with Gojira.
Gojira felt unimpressive and, while I understand and appreciate the historical significance of the film, I just couldn’t find that enthusiasm with this film when I viewed it in September. I was bored with it and did not feel entertained nor horrified. I couldn’t even connect with the characters like I was able to do over the years.
Hopefully this was nothing more than an anomaly of an experience and nothing that will be long-term.

Kent is a lifelong fan of Godzilla, kaiju, and other weird creatures. His love of Godzilla was initially stemmed from his love of dinosaurs.
