April 29, 2010Real Artwork Series Godzilla 1954 3D Poster Art Figure
May 4, 2010Well, it took two-and-a-half years to get released, but the Godzilla Perfect Soundtrack Collection Box 6 has finally been released!
The final set of this collection was released on Sunday, April 25th and, if you’re a die-hard fan, such as myself, you probably preordered it and have it in your possession already. Just as with the five box sets before it, only 1,954 of this set are produced (that number representing the year, 1954, when Gojira was released in Japan) and will become extremely rare to find as time rolls on.
However, with a price tag of about $120.95, tack on approximately $30 for shipping (overseas airmail), you will easily spend just about $151 just for this one set. In fact, some of the previous five sets are still available at places such as Arksquare.com, and, after a $21 price increase, are also selling for same price. If you haven’t done so, purchase those earlier box sets as they are getting much harder to find.
In this set, we finish off the Millennium series of Godzilla films with scores from Godzilla X Megaguirus to Godzilla: Final Wars. The bonus disc this time isn’t a digital transfer of an LP like with previous sets. This time, the bonus disc is the score to the 1998 Godzilla film by David Arnold.
I have yet to listen to any of the music, but the covers of the CDs in this set are absolutely beautiful! Like with previous sets, the covers have a snapshot of the specific Godzilla suit that was used in said film and, once again, like the previous boxes, comes with a miniature collage poster covering the films in the set. The covers, in my opinion, are probably the most beautiful covers out of this six box collection. My favorite, at the moment, is the cover to the Godzilla X Megaguirus score.
Individual soundtrack reviews will be posted as I listen through this, and the other, boxed sets. Keep an eye out!
