February 8, 2014As all daikaiju fans know that Universal released both King Kong vs. Godzilla and King Kong Escapes onto DVD back in 2005. But now, 9 years after those two films were released on DVD, the two films will be released again; but, for the first time ever, onto Blu-Ray April 1st. So no, this is not an April Fools joke.
Although the films will be released onto Blu-Ray, I haven’t seen anything if the discs will contain any commentary and/or behind-the-scenes content, but they may reveal more as the release date nears. However, both releases will feature 1080p video and lossless 2.0 soundtrack. Even though that the suggested retail price for the two films is $19.98, you can go over to Amazon today and pre-order the films for $13.86 each, and you can get to them here and here.
With Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla film releasing in theaters May 16th, expect to see more Godzilla films to be released or re-released soon as we know that both Kraken Releasing and Section23 Films are releasing three Godzilla films in early-May.
