Frank Darabont Hired To Rewrite Final Script For Godzilla

I thought that this news item should get its own article unlike Deadline when they added this news along with Dan and Roy leaving as Producers of Godzilla.

Anywho, with just two months away from production, Legendary has brought onboard Frank Darabont, who has launched the successful television series Walking Dead on AMC. Legendary wanted to bring him aboard to rewrite the final script which was originally written by Max Borenstein.

There has been some rumors out there saying someone was going to file suit against Legendary for the way the Godzilla script seemed a bit similar to another film. But who knows if that’s the real case.

The script has gone through 4 different scriptwriters so far with Frank Darabont onboard, including David Callaham and David S. Goyer.

Legendary and Warner Bros. will release Godzilla nationwide May 16, 2014.
